Spanish Verb INFLUIR: to influence

The Spanish verb influir means 'to influence' and is an irregular Spanish IR verb.

To remember this, imagine if we can INFLUENCE the building of the WEIR!

Spanish verb influir - influence influir can also mean: to act on.
influir en algo/alguien: to influence something/somebody.
el influjo (nm): influence.
influyente: influential

Spanish to influence is influir la influencia (nf): influence.
bajo la influencia del alcohol: under the influence of alcohol.
las influencias (nfpl): (influential) contacts.
la influencia sobre algo/alguien: influence on/upon somebody/something.

Spanish for influence is influir bajo la influencia del alcohol: under the influence of alcohol.
tener influencias en las altas esferas: to have friends in high places.
ejercer une mala influencia sobre alguien: to have a bad influence on somebody.

you informal vos replaces - you, informal, singular -
- in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and also in some countries of Central America.
Sometimes it also replaces the formal singular 'Usted'.
In irregular IR verbs, the conjugations remain the same as for except for the addition of accents in the following tenses:
Presente:      vos influís
Imperativo:  ¡influí!
