Spanish Verb AHOGAR: to drown

The Spanish verb ahogar means 'to drown' and is an irregular Spanish AR verb.

Spanish verb ahogar - drown ahogar can also mean: to choke, to smother, to stifle, to suffocate; to flood (engine).
ahogarse (vr): to drown, to be drowned.
Ahogarse en un vaso de agua: To make a mountain out of a molehill (lit. to drown in a glass of water).

Spanish to drown is ahogar ahogado (adj): drowned, suffocated.
morir ahogado: to drown (lit. to die by drowning).
Ahogar el rey: stalemate (chess) (lit. to choke/smother the King).

Spanish for drown is ahogar el ahogador (nm): choke (of an engine)(Chile, Mex).
el ahogo (nm): breathlessness.
tener ahogos: to get out of breath.

you informal vos replaces - you, informal, singular -
- in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and also in some countries of Central America.
Sometimes it also replaces the formal singular 'Usted'.
In irregular AR verbs, the conjugations remain the same as for except for the addition of accents in the following tenses:
