Spanish Verb CUBRIR: to cover

The Spanish verb cubrir means 'to cover' and is a regular Spanish IR verb.

To remember this, imagine Mother Bear covers the CUB REAR!

Note: This verb does have an irregular past participle: cubierto.

Spanish verb cubrir - cover Cubrir can also mean: to meet (ie a demand); to fill (ie a vacancy)
cubrir algo de algo to cover something with something.
cubrirse (vr): to cover oneself; to take cover.

Spanish to cover is cubrir la cubierta (nf): cover, sleeve (ie of book); tyre; deck.
la cubierta de vuelo (nf): flight deck.
bajo cubieto: under cover.
cubierto/a (adj m/f): cloudy, overcast.

Spanish for cover is cubrir el cubierto (nm): cutlery, place setting, cover charge.
el cubierto (nm): a piece of cutlery, place setting, cover charge.
los cubiertos (nmpl): cutlery (in general).

you informal vos replaces - you, informal, singular -
- in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and also in some countries of Central America.
Sometimes it also replaces the formal singular 'Usted'.
In regular IR verbs, the conjugations remain the same as for except for the addition of accents in the following tenses:
Presente:      vos cubrís
Imperativo:  ¡cubrí!
