Spanish Verb IMPEDIR: to impede

The Spanish verb impedir means 'to impede ' and is an irregular Spanish IR verb.

To remember this, imagine you IMPEDE DEER!

Spanish verb impedir - impede impedir can also mean: to prevent, to hamper, to hinder, to block.
impedirle a alguien + infinitive: to prevent someone from doing something.

Spanish to impede is impedir impedido/a (adj): disabled, handicapped.
el impedido / la impedida (nm/f): person with special needs.
estar impedido para algo: to be unable/unfit for something.

Spanish for impede is impedir el impedimento (nm): obstacle, impediment, handicap. No hay/existe ningún impedimento para hacerlo: There is no reason not to do it.
No hay ningún impedimento para este amor: There is nothing to stop this love./ There is no impediment to this love.

you informal vos replaces - you, informal, singular -
- in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and also in some countries of Central America.
Sometimes it also replaces the formal singular 'Usted'.
In irregular IR verbs, the conjugations remain the same as for except for the addition of accents in the following tenses:
