Spanish Verb LIGAR: to tie

The Spanish verb ligar means 'to tie' and is an irregular Spanish AR verb.

        USING the SPANISH VERB LIGAR      

Spanish verb ligar - tie ligar can also mean: to bind, to join, to unite.
ligar con alguien: to make out with somebody., to pull (slang).
ligarse: to make out with somebody (Am), to bind.

Spanish to tie is ligar la liga (nf): league, conference.
la ligadura (nf): ligature, knot.
el ligamento (nm): ligament.
el ligado (nm): writing using connected letters.

Spanish for tie is ligar ligado a alguien : attached to somebody/something.
Estaba ligando con mi hermana: He was making advances to my sister / trying to "pull" my sister. (fam)
Le hicieron una ligadura de trompas: She had a tubal ligation.

you informal vos replaces - you, informal, singular -
- in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and also in some countries of Central America.
Sometimes it also replaces the formal singular 'Usted'.
