Spanish Verb METER: to put

The Spanish verb meter means 'to put' and is a regular Spanish ER verb.

Spanish verb meter - put meter (en) can also mean: to put (in); to score (goal); to turn up (ie in costume).
meterse (vr) : to put oneself in; to get something; to become; to get involved.


Spanish to put is meter metido en algo : to be involved in something.
metido en política/un lío :
to be involved in politics / in a mess/trouble.
estar metido con algiuen : to be crazy/mad about someone.
dejar metido : to stand someone up.
un metido / una metida : busybody (Sth Am, coll).


Spanish for put is meter Es una metapatas! (coll): She is always putting her foot in it!


you informal vos replaces - you, informal, singular -
- in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and also in some countries of Central America.
Sometimes it also replaces the formal singular 'Usted'.
In regular ER verbs, the conjugations remain the same as for except for the addition of accents in the following tenses:
