The Spanish verb sentir means 'to feel' and is an irregular Spanish IR verb.

To remember this, imagine a man down on his luck feels gloomy as he looks at his last CENT 'ERE on the sidewalk!

USING the SPANISH VERB SENTIR

sentir can also mean: to hear.
sentirse: to feel.
Lo siento (mucho):: I am (very) sorry.

el sentimiento (nm): feeling.
el sentido (nm): sense, consciousness.
sentido/a (adj): heartfelt, deep, offendedm sensitive.

Mi más sentido pésame: My deepest sympathy.
Su sentido del deber: Her sense of duty.
ser de buenos sentimientos: to be a caring person.
sentir hambre/frío/sed: to feel hungry/cold/thirsty.

vos replaces tú - you, informal, singular -
- in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and also in some countries of Central America.
Sometimes it also replaces the formal singular 'Usted'.
In irregular IR verbs, the conjugations remain the same as for tú except for the addition of accents in the following tenses:
Presente: vos referís
Imperativo: ¡referí!
