Spanish Verb SUCEDER: to happen

The Spanish verb suceder means 'to happen' and is a regular Spanish ER verb.

To remember this, imagine "It SUCCEEDED in happening!" said the DARE devil!

Suceda lo que suceda: Whatever happens; Come what may.
Por lo que pueda suceda: Just in case.


Spanish to happen is suceder sucederse (vr): to follow.
suceder a can also mean: to succeed ie to follow, to come after.
El cinco sucede el cuatro: Five comes after four.
El principe sucede al rey: The prince succeeds the king.


Spanish for happen is suceder la sucesión (nf): succession, series; estate, inheritance, issue.
Murió sin sucesión: S/he died without issue.
sucesivo/a (adj): consecutive.
en lo sucesivo in the future, from now on.
sucesivamente (adv): successively.
y así sucesivamente: and so on, and so forth.

you informal vos replaces - you, informal, singular -
- in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and also in some countries of Central America.
Sometimes it also replaces the formal singular 'Usted'.
In regular ER verbs, the conjugations remain the same as for except for the addition of accents in the following tenses:
Presente:      vos sucedés
Imperativo:  ¡sucedé!
