Spanish Verb CRUZAR: to cross

The Spanish verb cruzar means 'to cross' and is an irregular Spanish ZAR verb.

To remember this, imagine that Penelope CRUZ crosses the street with a CROSS!

la cruza (nf): crossbreed (animal, plant).
la cruzada (nf): crusade.

Spanish for to cross is cruzar cruzarse con alguien: to see/pass somebody.
se le cruzó una moto: a motorcycle pulled out in front of him.
hacerse cruces: to make one's blood run cold.
cara o cruz: heads or tails.
¡Qué cruz!: What a pain! (coll)

you informal vos replaces - you, informal, singular -
- in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and also in some countries of Central America.
Sometimes it also replaces the formal singular 'Usted'.
In irregular ZAR verbs, the conjugations remain the same as for except for the addition of accents in the following tenses:
Presente:      vos cruzás
Subjuntivo:  vos crucés
Imperativo:  ¡cruzá! ¡No crucés!
