Spanish Verb CONDUCIR: to drive

The Spanish verb conducir means 'to drive ' and is an irregular Spanish IR verb.

To remember this, imagine Sarah has to drive herself - letting a CON DO SARah's test isn't CONDUCIve to good driving habits!

Around 14 verbs are conjugated like conducir, changing the c to cz before a or o in the present indicative first person, and the present conjunctive and imperative tenses. The c changes to j before e before i or o in the preterite and the imperfect and future subjunctive tenses.

saber conducir: to know how to drive.

Spanish to drive is conducir la conducción (nf): driving; leadership; conduction.
el conductor / la conductora (nm/f): driver; host; conductor.

Spanish for drive is conducir conducir por la derecha / izquierda: to drive on the right / left.
conducir como un loco: to drive like a madman.
conducir como una nenaza: to drive like a sissy (slang).

you informal vos replaces - you, informal, singular -
- in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and also in some countries of Central America.
Sometimes it also replaces the formal singular 'Usted'.
In irregular IR verbs, the conjugations remain the same as for except for the addition of accents in the following tenses:
