Save your existing 200 Words a Day! database

The 200 Words a Day! database contains the Progress, Lessons Learnt, Worst Words, Schedule, Notes and other personalised details for all users.

You may wish to save your existing 200 Words a Day! database for safe-keeping.

Locate the database file on your computer:

The file is automatically saved in the following directory:-

C:\Program Files\Exceltra\Spanish \Exceltra Spanish.mdb
(or whatever language you’re installing)

Copy and paste it to a separate location of your choice.

Transfer your existing 200 Words a Day! database from one computer to another.

You may wish to transfer your existing 200 Words a Day! database from an old computer to a new one, so you can continue to build on your previous progress.

On your new computer:

1) Install the 200 Words a Day! software from the CDs or Downloads.

Remember, if you are running Windows Vista, after you have successfully installed the programme, but before you run/open it:

1. Click on Start\Computer, then navigate to C:\Program Files\Exceltra\Spanish (or whatever language you’re installing)
   
2. Right click the file Spanish.exe (or other language.exe)
   
3. On the dropdown menu, click Properties, and then the Compatibility Tab at the top of the window
   
4. Select Compatibility Mode, Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP
   
5. Select Privilege Level, Run this program as an administrator
   
6. Click OK
   

2) Run the 200 Words a Day Course using the Desktop Icon or Start Menu, then exit the program.

3) Locate the database file on your old computer (as above) in:

C:\Program Files\Exceltra\Spanish \Exceltra Spanish.mdb
(or whatever language you’re installing)

Using a USB memory stick or some other copying device, copy and paste the existing database to the same location on your new computer.

When you re-open the software, you should now see the details of your progress from your old computer.
